NSM
Are you self-taught on your instruments or have you taken lessons?

Joel - Well my Dad bought me my first guitar at an early age and he taught me some of the basics. Soon after I got my head round it I got some lessons. Stopped having lessons a few months ago and now I’m the new Hendrix!

Davo - Shut up Joel.

NSM
Why did you choose to play your specific instrument?

Sam - Cause it looks cool.

Joel - So why do you play them?

NSM
Who, in the band, writes your songs/lyrics?

Joel - I write all the jingles in this joint! Sometimes Davo gives a helping hand. My dad again got me into writing and I really love to write songs. It really helps me express a feeling. Whether it be love, anger or generally pissed off with things! It's like a stress ball for me and now I’m the new Paul McCartney!

Davo: Shut up Joel.

NSM
Do you every run into any conflict with each other when it comes to music? If so, how do you resolve it?

Davo - We're actually pretty good. We all dig the style we play!

Sam - To resolve it we normally just get naked and things kind of sort themselves out.

NSM
Describe your ideal recording environment. (It doesn’t have to be realistic.)

Dave: Inside the womb.

NSM
Is there anything, from a musical aspect, you feel you need to work on individually or as a group?

Joel - Well of course we need to progress as a group with age and experiment with the styles and sounds!

NSM
Do you have a favorite town or venue to perform in?

Dave - The home shows are always amazing! It's great to see a lot of people there and playing the NEC is a bit special! Can’t wait to play there again this July!

Sam - Los Angeles Forum was great last night!

Joel - What?

Sam - Oh yeah, it was a dream.

NSM
If you can remember your first show together, what was it like for you?

Joel - Well we had a brilliant warm up show in my conservatory! (Laughs). Our first proper show together went pretty well. We were only a 3 piece and there was even an 80-year-old Irish mosher jumping all over the place!

NSM
In your blog on MySpace you ask the fans where they want you to perform. You also post videos of yourselves on your YouTube page. Which is great because it keeps the fans involved and the videos give them a glimpse of who you are and how you act. My question is, did you give this decision (of keeping the fans involved) a lot of thought before you posted these things?

Joel - We love to keep the fans involved! I believe it's vital. We wouldn't be anywhere if no one listened to us or supported us! It's the least we can do!

Davo - Yeah. I mean we like to find out where people would like to see us so we know where to go! We don't really want to play to one guy and his 3-legged dog!

NSM
Let’s get off the subject of music for a minute, what do you guys do for fun when your not playing/recording music, how old are you, what do you do for a living, etc?

Sam - Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll. Well, minus the sex and drugs.... well and the Rock & Roll! We're still young so we enjoy going out with all our mates and having a good time!

Dave - I'm 17. I enjoy skating in my spare time. I'd like to think I’m pretty good.

NSM
I like to ask this question every now and then. What are your top 5 favorite movies?

Sam - Anchorman is a barrel of laughs! Also; Freddy Got Fingered and Jackass! So I'm a bit of a comedy fan.

Joel - I have to say all the Lord of the Rings trilogy is just amazing! I think I've watched them like 20 times! Yes I had a lot of spare time.

NSM
What are some of the most significant musical moments in your lives that have influenced your journey as musicians?

Dave - Just being on stage with people getting into the music I think is significant itself!

Joel - The one moment that really shook me was when Deryk (Sum 41) picked me up to go on stage in front of a sellout crowd at Birmingham Academy! I spent the whole night on stage and then sung the last line of the night into the mic!
